The second season of Fargo is taking shape, with two leads cast on Wednesday. Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons will headline the new season.

While writer/creator Noah Hawley’s series is an anthology, with each season focusing on different crimes and characters, Fargo season two will be linked to the first one. It will be a prequel, centering on the Sioux Falls crime Lou Solverson mentioned several times during season one.

The crime takes place in 1979. Deadline notes that Dunst was cast as Peggy Blomquist, a beautician with big dreams and hopes to move to a big city. Plemons will play her husband Ed, a butcher’s assistant who will support her, even if he’s unsure about her creams.

Joel and Ethan Coen, who directed the Oscar-winning film that inspired Hawley’s series, will again executive produce. Filming starts in Calgary and the FX Productions/MGM TV series will debut next fall.

Fargo’s first season was a critical smash and ended up on the AFI 2014 Top 10 list for TV this week. While it starred Billy Bob Thornton, the real star was Allison Tolman, who earned an Emmy nomination for playing Officer Molly Salverson, Lou’s daughter.

Dunst’s next movie is Warner Bros.’ Midnight special. Plemons was recently in Tommy Lee Jones’ The Homesman and was seen on TV in Friday Night Lights and Breaking Bad.
