Just two days ago on Christmas Eve, a red car passing three former Immokalee High School football players opened fire. It's been announced that two of the players are members of the Florida and West Virginia football teams.
Florida defensive back J.C. Jackson and West Virginia wide receiver Jacky Marcellus were the two of the people in that car who were injured as a result of the Christmas Eve shooting in Immokalee, Florida, notes CBS Sports.
Both Jackson and Marcellus were in the car with the Marcellus' older brother, Jackinson, when they notice they were being followed by a red car. They slowed down to let it pass, and when it did gunshots were fired.
“It just happened so fast,” said Jackinson Marcellus, who spoke from the Lee Memorial Hospital Friday after being shot in the face, just below his eye. “I looked left to see him fire," according to Naples News.
Jacky Marcellus was shot in the back while Jackson had a bullet graze his eyelid. Jackinson was shot in the face below his eye.
“They don’t get in trouble,” Jackinson added. “All they do is joke around and make people laugh.”
First reports of the incident came down that night, as the three boys were in town, home for Christmas. No arrests have been made as investigators are currently looking into it.
