Some of Bill Cosby’s sexual assault accusers have now banded together through attorney Gloria Allred, who is challenging the embattled Cosby Show star to clear his name by paying $100 million to settle the claims or go through an informal trial to prove his innocence.
Allred presented her proposition at a news conference on Wednesday, which three of Cosby’s alleged victims attended.
TMZ reports since the statute of limitations has run out on these cases, Allred is challenging Cosby to do “what’s right” and accept this proposal.
The accusers all cried during the conference, with two of the women claiming they were raped and drugged and the other one saying she was touched inappropriately when Cosby grabbed her by the wrist, calling him a “predator.”
“It could be advantageous for Mr. Cosby to give up the statute of limitations because there is a huge cloud on his reputation,” Allred told reporters at the conference, Us Weekly reports. “If Mr. Cosby believes all the women are being untruthful, then this is his opportunity to prove it.”
Since the conference, Cosby has canceled two shows scheduled for this weekend in Tarrytown, New York.
Cosby has denied all of these allegations and has thanked two of his public supporters, Whoopi Goldberg and Jill Scott.
