Hulu announced a major coup among streaming services, reaching a deal with FX Networks to become the exclusive streaming home of shows produced by FX Productions.
Freshman shows Tyrant, The Strain, Married and You’re The Worst will be among the first shows available. Hulu said that the first seasons for each show will be available in their entirety for Hulu Plus users before they start their second seasons next year.
Hulu already has streaming rights to Sons of Anarchy, American Horror Story, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Wilfred, Archer, The League and Louie as well. However, these shows are also available at other streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime.
The deal does include several future comedies that FX Productions is making. This includes the highly anticipated The Comedians with Billy Crystal and Baskets with Zach Galifianakis.
Dennis Leary’s Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, Taboo with Tom Hardy and Jay Baruchel’s Man Seeking Woman will also be available for Hulu Plus.
“This new partnership is more than just a licensing agreement with FX Productions,” Craig Erwich, Hulu Senior Vice President, Head of Content, said. “It is a groundbreaking deal that represents our commitment to our partners at FX Networks, as well as our commitment to always providing premium, in demand content to our loyal viewers.”
