Jackie Chan’s son, Jaycee Chan, who was detained and charged with a drug offense four months ago, has been indicted by Chinese prosecutors in the case.

Chan, 32, who is also an actor, was indicted on one charge of sheltering others to use drugs.

The AP reports the charge carries a three-year maximum jail sentence.

The detainment was particularly embarrassing for the Rush Hour star, who was named an anti-drug ambassador for China in 2009. His son’s arrest was part of crackdowns Chinese President Xi Jinping has enforced for harsh penalties when it comes to drug offenders.

At the time of Jaycee getting caught with marijuana in August, he released a statement saying, “I feel very angry and very shocked. As a public figure, I'm very ashamed. As a father, I'm heartbroken.”

Asia’s AFP reports at least ten celebrities have been arrested in relation to drug charges in the past year as part of President Jinping’s crackdown.
