Janice Dickinson said that she believes fellow supermodel Beverly Johnson, who also claims she was drugged by comedian Bill Cosby.
Dickinson spoke with TMZ on Thursday in Beverly Hills and told the site that Johnson would not be lying. She added that she was proud that Johnson came forward.
“...She doesn’t lie either,” Dickinson said. “I’m lucky to call her my friend. I’m just really grateful that more and more women are doing the right thing.”
Johnson - the first African American woman to appear on the cover of American Vogue - first told her story on Thursday in a Vanity Fair piece. She claims that Cosby drugged her in the 1980s, while she was auditioning for a part in The Cosby Show at his New York home. She later told CNN on Friday that when she began telling others in the entertainment industry, they acted like they already knew about Cosby’s behavior.
Dickinson came forward late last month, alleging that she was drugged and sexually assaulted by Cosby in the 1980s in Lake Tahoe, also with dreams of being on the Cosby Show.
While Cosby’s attorney, Martin Singer, has not commented directly on Johnson’s claims, he called Dickinson’s claim “defamatory.”
