Despite constantly landing on Forbes’ highest paid lists, Jay Z and Beyonce were actually outbid on a Beverly Hills, Calif. estate they wanted.
The sprawling estate, which is 23,000 sq. ft., was ultimately purchased by Swedish billionaire Markus Persson for $70 million.
According to TMZ, Persson may not be as well known as the “Drunk in Love” collaborators, but he did sell his company Mojang - which made Minecraft - to Microsoft for $2.5 billion.
Blue Ivy’s parents had their hearts set on the home, which they reportedly visited six times.
MailOnline reports the Swedish billionaire must’ve really sweetened up the offer, because real estate brokers John Aaroe Group say he closed the deal “in a lightning-fast six days.”
The estate was built by Bruce Makowsky, a handbag designer.
Persson’s massive purchase, which broke records in the neighborhood, was actually a steal in real estate terms. It was listed for $85 million earlier this year.
