Jennifer Aniston stopped by The Dr. Oz Show for a pre-taped episode about the effects of not working out, which she experienced while filming Cake.

She has admitted that she was in a “different state of mind” while filming because she gave up her normal workout routine and healthy eating regimen. She has since earned SAG Award and Golden Globe nominations for her work.

During her chat with Dr. Oz, she admitted “Itt really was interesting how my serotonin levels went down. My stamina was shot. I was cranky. I was irritable. I'm usually really not any of those things. I found myself short. I was hungry like crazy."

She went on to say that it wasn’t just about not “being able to fit into skinny jeans,” but about your “soul,” Us Magazine reports.

“I surrendered into it,” she said. “I actually didn't fight it. I didn't think oh this is horrible. It was such a part of what I enjoyed about mining this character."

Aniston plays Claire Simmons in Cake, who suffers from chronic pain. She stopped wearing makeup and let herself go for two months to portray her.
