Julia Roberts has been announced as the new face of Givenchy and the first shot from the campaign has been released, showing the actress in a classic black suit.

The fashion house’s creative director, Riccardo Tisci, spoke to Yahoo Style about the collaboration and dished about Roberts being their first pick to represent the brand.

Tisci praised Roberts, saying “I think that she represents such a mature woman.” He added although she’s a big movie star, she’s someone who is “mature, beautiful, talented, but also unpretentious.”

The Pretty Woman star proved just how unpretentious she is when she recalled a recent conversation with her sister, poking fun at her late start to a modeling career.

“She goes, 'How are you suddenly turned into a supermodel You're almost 50,'" she laughed.

As for meeting Tisci, Roberts admitted she was “nervous” because she finds the fashion industry as a whole “intimidating and illusive.”

She said Tisci put her “very much at ease” by his kind nature and “personal” approach to what he does.
