While Kathie Lee Gifford said on the Today Show that she hopes the allegations against Bill Cosby aren’t true, she said this morning that the comedian once tried to kiss her.

“I, along with so many Americans and people around the world, don't want these [accusations] to be true,” Gifford said, reports The New York Daily News. "I will admit towards the end of the tour the last time I saw him he did try to kiss me.”

Gifford and a group of backup singers performed as the opener for a Cosby stand-up tour in the late ‘70s.

“I said, 'No,' I said, 'Bill, we're friends,’” Gifford continued. “He said, 'OK, good night," and I said, 'Good night.' I went into my room and he went into his room.'”

While Cosby was nothing but kind towards Gifford and her group, Gifford did recall that Cosby would make cappuccinos for them at the end of their set. That memory now gives her a “chill,” since supermodel Beverly Johnson alleges that Cosby gave her a cappuccino when she was drugged by Cosby.

Gifford’s revelation came just hours after Cosby’s wife, Camille, defended her husband and blasted the media for its coverage.

Cosby himself also told the New York Post over the weekend that he hopes the black media will be “neutral.”
