It was a given at this point, but E! has officially named Kathy Griffin the new host of Fashion Police. Brad Goreski has also replaced George Kotsiopoulos as a panelist.
In a statement on Monday, Executive Vice President, Programming and Development of E!, Jeff Olde, confirmed Griffin would be Joan Rivers’ successor.
"Not only was Joan a trailblazer, she was also a dear friend and mentor to Kathy, who will no doubt continue her legacy and do the series justice by bringing her own unique comedic style and tell-it-like-it-is personality to the host chair," he told E! News.
Melissa Rivers, who serves as executive producer on the show, also said it just “feels right” that Griffin would replace her late mother.
Giuliana Rancic and Kelly Osbourne will return for the show, which will premiere on Jan. 12 just in time for the Golden Globes.
"I get it! These are some big shoes I'm going to fill. Joan was truly one of a kind,” Griffin said in a statement. “Now I hope you will accept me for me. I'm just Kathy. Did I say I'm just Kathy? I meant I'm Kathy F***ing Griffin and you celebrities better strap yourself in, as I am taking no prisoners. I am not holding back so DAMMIT let's have some fun!"
Griffin said last month that she did get offered the spot on Fashion Police but wasn’t sure if it was the right move for her. She’s obviously since made up her mind.
Goreski had his own Bravo show It's a Brad, Brad World and worked for Rachel Zoe, which fans got to see on The Rachel Zoe Project. Rivers said he brings a "brings a fun, new voice" to the show.
