Kim Dickens has been cast in the upcoming Walking Dead companion series. Dickens is known for her work on Deadwood and Sons of Anarchy and most recently in Gone Girl which was critically acclaimed and a huge success at the box office this year.
Deadline reported that Dickens will be playing the female lead opposite Cliff Curtis.

The spin-off show will also be airing on AMC and Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman is working on this series along with Dead. Adam Davidson set to direct.
The casting process for the female lead has been reportedly a long process with AMC testing a number of actresses for the role.
Entertainment Weekly added that Dickens will be joining Curtis, Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey who are already cast in the series.
The title of the spin-off series is not yet known but it will be taking place during the same apocalypse that is feature in The Walking Dead, just in a different location.
