Kristin Cavallari has come a long way since her Laguna Beach days, but she is taking a trip down memory lane discussing her reality television experience.

Cavallari was only in high school when MTV first visited her high school to have a casting for their hit reality show, Laguna Beach. During an interview for Oprah: Where Are They Now?, airing this Sunday, Cavallari opened up about her experience. "I was a junior in high school and MTV showed up and did open casting. You grab this 20-page packet and then they would take your Polaroid, and from there, they did on-camera interviews. They sort of narrowed it down to these eight people,” she said in the interview according to E! News.

The hit reality television show aired on MTV for three seasons. The first two seasons featured Cavallari, Lauren Conrad, Stephen Colletti, Lo Bosworth, Morgan Olsen, Trey Phillips, Christina Schuller and Talan Torriero. “We had no idea what we were doing. We were just going along with whatever MTV was telling us to do,” Cavallari explained.

The 27-year-old even went into detail about a particular situation that caused a lot of tension on the show between her and one of her co-stars. The situation was the infamous love triange she was placed in between her, Lauren Conrad, and Stephen Colletti. "My boyfriend at the time [Coletti] would take Lauren Conrad to dinner and buy her flowers, which never would have happened if it weren't for the show and MTV," the reality star says. "I felt very used and manipulated."

After the first episode aired, Cavallari experienced a tough time due to how MTV portrayed her on the reality television show. "Being 16, 17 in high school, not knowing really how to handle your emotions or even realizing what's going on, I put up a wall. I put up a really tough exterior because I felt like they were really trying to take advantage of me." She continued, "When I saw it air and saw the way that they represented me, I was really, really upset. I cried for hours and hours after I saw the first episode," Cavallari admits.

Since putting her reality television days behind her, Cavallari got married to football player Jay Cutler. The couple have two children named Camden and Jaxon.
