Madonna has posed topless for Interview magazine at the age of 56, in which she talks about censorship and previous experiences with drugs.
She’s the cover girl for the magazine’s "The Art Issue,” sitting down to talk with the magazine’s David Blaine. Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot the provocative photos.
Madonna reasoned that the reason people do drugs is to “connect to God,” explaining it as “plugging into the Matrix.”
“If you get high, you can do that, which is why a lot of people drop acid or do drugs, because they want to get closer to God,” she said. “But there's going to be a short circuit, and that's the illusion of drugs, because they give you the illusion of getting closer to God, but ultimately they kill you.”
She talked about her own experiences, saying she’s “tried everything once” but didn’t want the high to last.
“Ss soon as I was high, I spent my time drinking tons of water to get it out of my system,” she said, adding, “I was obsessed with flushing it out of me. I was like, 'Okay, I'm done now.'"
Madonna posing topless comes on the heels of a tweet from last month, in which she seemed to wonder why the public accepted Kim Kardashian’s nude shoot but still censored nipples.
“Its confusing. Nipples are considered forbidden and provocative but exposing your ass is not. #flummoxed,” she wrote.
