Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy has broken his silence on his split from Kate Hudson, whom he shares 3-year-old son Bingham with.
Hudson’s rep confirmed the split earlier this week, saying it happened a while ago.
On Twitter, Bellamy thanked fans for all of the support in the wake of their split.
"Love all of you guys! We're both very happy, it's for the best,” he wrote. “Thanks for your kind words. Now about that new album…"
Part of that happiness is perhaps moving on to new people. As we previously reported, Hudson was already seen out with a new guy - Dancing with the Stars pro Derek Hough.
They were seen out in Los Angeles at Nice Guy Restaurant, having dinner and drinks.
Hudson’s rep said she and Bellamy “remain very close friends” and that might be true, as they were seen together at recently at Hudson’s mom Goldie Hawn’s "Love In For Kids" charity event.
