Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski finally learned what a Furry is and she just could not keep it together.
Brzezinski and her co-hosts, Joe Scarborough and Willie Geist, were telling their viewers about the chlorine gas attack at the Midwest FurFest in Chicago over the weekend. As they read the headline, she thought she was reading it wrong.
After they played a clip from a local news report about the incident, someone told Brzezinski exactly what a Furry is - someone who likes to dress up as an anthropomorphic animal. When the camera cut back to the hosts, she had bolted from the desk.
According to the Associated Press, 19 people at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare, where the convention was being held, were taken to the hospital. The chlorine gas forced an evacuation, so groups of people dressed as foxes, cats and other furry animals were stuck waiting outside. At least their costumes kept them warm.
Hours later, the hotel was decontaminated and the Furries were let back into their natural habitat.
