USA Today reported that Colter will be playing Cage in a 13-episode series titled Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones which will premiere on Netflix following the release of Daredevil, which will also be coming out in 2015.

Colter will be starring along side Krysten Ritter, known for her work on Breaking Bad and Don't Trust The B. Ritter will be playing Jessica Jones in the Netflix project.

Luke Cage was first introduced in Marvel comics back in the early 1970s. Cage is known for having super strength and skin that cannot be penetrated. Cage acquired these powers and skills because of a cell regeneration experiment that went wrong.

Executive producer Melissa Rosenberg, opened up about why Colter was the best choice to bring the character of Cage from the comic book pages to real life. "Mike embodies the strength, edge and depth of Luke Cage. We're excited to have him bring this iconic Marvel character to life."

New York Daily News added that this project will be one of our Marvel shows in development with Netflix.
