Neil Patrick Harris is mourning the death of his grandmother, who died on Christmas day at the age of 92. He posted a touching tribute to her on Instagram on the day of her funeral on Tuesday.
Harris, who will be hosting the Academy Awards in February, shared a photo of Martha Jeanne Harris and posted a sweet message.
“My grandma passed away on Thursday night, services are today. Martha Jeanne Harris was 92, lived a long, lovely life. We shared a birthday, 6/15. She'll be missed,” he wrote.
ABC News notes despite his loss, he posted some photos of holiday joy with his twins; Gideon and Harper, 4, over the holidays.
He shared a photo of them eating Christmas Eve dinner, writing, "Gideon and Harper are in holiday heaven.”
E! News reports Harris leaves behind six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
The former How I Met Your Mother star and husband David Burtka welcomed their twins via surrogate in 2010 and will never find out who the biological father is.
