On The Pink Print, Nicki Minaj raps about a very personal experience she had when she was just a teenager attending the performing-arts high school LaGuardia in New York City.
The “Anaconda” rapper opened up about getting an abortion on the song "All Things Go” and she continued to talk about it during a recent interview with Rolling Stone.
"I thought I was going to die," she said about finding out about the pregnancy.
"I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I'd ever gone through,” she continued, adding it "haunted me all my life."
At the time, Minaj was dating an older guy and she admitted she simply “wasn’t ready” to be a mother yet.
"It'd be contradictory if I said I wasn't pro-choice,” she said. “I didn't have anything to offer a child."
Lyrics of the song “All Things Go” include, "My child with Aaron would've been 16 any minute,” Us Weekly reports.
Just last month, Minaj talked about her desire to be a mother now that she’s 32 and has accomplished a lot in her career. “I feel like I was put here to be a mother,” she told Complex.
