As if season two of the HBO hit True Detective didn’t already have an incredible cast, Rick Springfield will appear in the show as well.
The musician tweeted on Wednesday that he had finished his first day of shooting. Springfield’s role is currently unknown, but he’s no stranger to TV. The Wrap revealed that the “Jessie’s Girl” singer has had roles in General Hospital and Californication.
As The Hollywood Reporter noted, the eight-episode anthology series will be set in California, where a murder will propel entangle detectives and a criminal in a complex plot. Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch and Rachel McAdams play police officers at different levels in the organization while Vince Vaughn will play a crime lord on the verge of collapse.
While the first season was directed to Emmy-winning success by Cary Fukunaga, this season will include a variety of directors, including Justin Lin. Nic Pizzolatto will still be taking on writing duties.
