After much controversy and Sony pulling The Interview from theaters, the studio has had a change of heart and has released the film on demand and in limited theaters. The films two stars, James Franco and Seth Rogen have been celebrating the news and Rogen, along with co-director, Evan Goldberg surprised audiences by showing up at a screening.

ABC reported that Goldberg and Rogen arrived at a midnight showing of the film in L.A. at the Silent Movie Theatre.

Rogen addressed the crowd and thanked them for coming out. "Thank you so f------ much for coming. We thought this might not happen at all,” said Rogen.

Franco also showed his support for the release by posting on Twitter.

The box office results for the film might be impacted because of its limited release, Variety added. Early estimates indicate that the movie might only make three million in theaters, not counting VOD revenue.
