Sons of Anarchy has completed their final ride and reached a series high when it comes to ratings. The show also became the highest rated in FX history.

The finale for SAMCRO averaged 9.26 million viewers, The Hollywood Reporter added. Six million of those viewers were between the ages of 18-49.

FX Networks and FX Production CEO John Landgraf spoke about the show and how the network was thankful for Kurt Sutter and the whole cast and crew. “It’s a rare and remarkable accomplishment for a television show to generate its — and our channel’s — highest ratings in its final season. We thank Kurt Sutter and his team for an epic ride," said Landgraf.

In the 20 year history of FX, Sons has set the record for most watched show with an average viewing of 7.54 million viewers, Yahoo.com reported.

The finale set the record but it barley beat out the September season seven premiere which drew in over 9.25 million.

The show featured what would happen to the Redwood Originals and the main character, Charlie Hunnam, who played Jax Teller. The reaction from fans have been mixed but most took to social media to thank Kurt Sutter for the show and creating characters that had such heartfelt and intense storylines.
