Stephen Colbert’s send-off was a star-studded event on Thursday night; his last episode of The Colbert Report before he heads off to replace David Letterman on CBS’ Late Show.

Colber ended his nine-year run on Comedy Central with the help of New York mayor Bill de Blasio, Cyndi Lauper, Jon Stewart, Katie Couric, James Franco, JJ Abrams, Bill Clinton, George Lucas, Big Bird and many more.

They gathered around the late night host for a sing-along of Vera Lynn’s “We’ll Meet Again.” Some joined in on the sing-along via video chat.

“If this is your first time tuning into The Colbert Report, I have some terrible news," he joked, Today.com reports.

Colbert, in his usual quirky comedic style, bowed out with Santa Claus, Abraham Lincoln and Jeopardy’s Alex Trebek.

Rolling Stone notes when the song wrapped, he took his Captain America shield and meets them on top of the studio building. He then disappears in Santa’s sleigh.
