Taylor Swift has revealed that one part of her ‘good girl’ image really is true – she didn’t drink any alcohol before she turned 21.

While being interviewed by Barbara Walters for the 10 Most Fascinating People special, Swift said she’s extremely aware of how her actions come across to her young fans.

Now that she’s older, she drinks but she claimed that her first experiences with alcohol were when she was of legal age to do so.

"I mean, I do drink, I am 25," she told Walters, who beamed about her “good reputation.”

"So it's not like, I mean… Yeah, I was at a Knicks game and I had a beer and everybody was like, 'Ohhh!' I was like, 'Tsk.'"

She went on to explain, "I did wait until I was 21 to drink. I was so paranoid about getting in trouble or setting the wrong example or sending the wrong message,” Us Weekly reports.

As a result, she lives putting her decisions “through a filter” and as a result, she’s had success in keeping a clean image.

“If I do something reckless or thoughtless or careless, or I treat someone badly, that doesn't just affect me; it affects that person. Then, if that story gets out, or some 10-year-old sees that I did that in a news article… my actions do have ripples,” she said.

Walters mused that Swift seems really “sane” of someone with as much fame as she has, but she credits it to keeping her family close and relying on them for support and guidance.

Despite rumors she’s dating The 1975’s Matt Healy, Swift told Walters she simply doesn’t see how a relationship can fit in her chaotic world right now.

"I don't see a scenario right now, the way my life is, in which it could work," she said. "So I don't think about it because I don't like to think about things that I can't solve."
