TLC has been criticized for forgetting what its name stands for, but they have finally decided on a subject they are willing to teach viewers about: sex.
The network announced on Friday that it has greenlit its first late-night talk show, which will air on Saturday nights. The talk show is all about sex, hence the title All About Sex. Margaret Cho, Heather McDonald, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Dr. Tiffanie Davis Henry will host the weekly series.
The four women will answer questions from viewers on social media to “dispel misconceptions about what could be considered America's favorite pastime,” as the network put it. Each episode will feature different segments that cover everything from crazy sex-related stories to serious questions about love and marriage.
TLC has only ordered six episodes so far and each will run a half-hour, airing Saturdays at 11 p.m. Its lead-in will be the popular Sex Sent Me To The ER.
Cho is an Emmy-nominated host and also has Grammy nominations, published books and other shows on her resume. She is also a passionate supporter of gay rights and anti-bullying groups.
McDonald appeared on the popular E! talk show Chelsea Lately and is a New York Times best-selling author. She performs stand-up around the country and has worked with the Wayans Brothers.
Winokur is a Tony-winning actress who starred in Hairspray and competed on Dancing with the Stars.
Lastly, Henry is considered one of the top sex and relationship experts in the country and has contributed to several TV shows and publications.
