The Golden Globe for Best Original Song has been awarded to songwriters who have created beautiful lyrics for a major motion picture. Beginning in 1962, each year has been an eclectic amount of music being honored at the awards show, from classic songs to animated feature films that children from all over have grown up with.
This year, the nominees for Best Original Song include “Big Eyes” from the movie Big Eyes, “Glory” from Selma, “Mercy Is” from Noah, “Opportunity” from Annie, and “Yellow Flicker Beat” from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.
Past winners of Best Original Songs have been chosen for various reasons and have been honored for their classic sound and the emotion they bring out of us as we listen to the music. They take us back to the moment in the film where they appear and allow us the pleasure of reliving the movie through the evoking memories.
We’re taking a look at some of the top ten winners of Best Original Song for the Golden Globe Awards. Tune in Jan. 11, 2015 to find out who the winner will be for 2015.
