Beau Kazer, an actor on CBS’ long-running soap opera The Young and the Restless, has died. He was 63.

His death was first reported by Coap Opera Network, which confirmed that he died on Dec. 30 in Thousand Oaks, California. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Alkus.

Kazer was a major part of Y&R, making his debut on the show in 1974 as Brock, the son of Jeanne Cooper’s character Katherine. He left the show in 1980, but continued to make recurring appearances on the show through 2013. He did appear at the funeral for Katherine in 2013.

Kazer, who was born in Ontario, also made appearances on ABC’s General Hospital, B.J. And The Bear and Hart to Hart.

Current Y&R star Daniel Goddard fondly remembered Kazer in a Facebook post.

The Young and the Restless has lost another of its own... RIP Beau Kazer (Brock) I remember the first time I heard your voice and thought wow!” Goddard wrote. “This guy should have been in radio! Then I watched u act and was blown away with how natural and honest your performances always were. God Bless.”
