While Benedict Cumberbatch and his fiancee, Sophie Hunter, announced their engagement in a newspaper, the couple have decided to announce that they are expecting their first child in a more immediate way.

A rep for the couple confirmed the happy news in a statement to The New York Daily News. They had to say something, since Hunter appeared to be showing a baby bump at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala last week.

“I am delighted to confirm that Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter are expecting their first child. They are both over the moon,” the Imitation Game star’s rep told the Daily News.

Back in November, the couple announced their engagement in the U.K. in the print edition of The Times.

“The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katherine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London,” the formal announcement read.

Hunter, 36, is also an actress and a theater director. They reportedly met in 2009 while making Burlesque Fairytales.

Cumberbatch, 38, can be seen on the big screen in The Imitation Game and is up for a Golden Globe this Sunday. He’s also set to play Doctor Strange for Marvel in 2016.
