Bill Cosby’s three-night tour of Ontario, Canada ended Friday night in Hamilton. During all three nights, Cosby was met with protests and hecklers as the embattled comedian faces mounting sexual abuse allegations from women.
Earlier this week, Cosby vowed to give fans the “show of their life” before Wednesday’s show in Kitchener. On Thursday, he performed in London, where he actually joked about the allegations he faces, telling one woman, “You have to be careful about drinking around me.”
On Friday night, Cosby performed in Hamilton, where his fans clashed with protesters just after the show started. CBC News reports that protesters were heard whistling and yelling, “We believe the women!” As they were escorted out by security, others shouted “We believe the men” and “We love you Bill.”
As for Cosby, he told the crowd to be calm, telling fans that the protesters made their point and were being let out.
Still, more people continued to disrupt the show as it went on. Someone even yelled out “piece of sh*t.”
“Whatever happens here tonight if there’s some sort of outburst, we just have to remain calm and things will be taken care of. It oughtn’t last that long,” Cosby said earlier in the show, notes The New York Daily News. “I want to thank all of you here tonight because you stayed with what you believed in.”
Many of Cosby’s shows in the U.S. have been cancelled in recent weeks. Cosby has been accused by over 20 women of raping and drugging them. His attorneys have been our in force to discredit the claims.
