This week, model Chloe Goins claimed that she was sexually assaulted by Bill Cosby in 2008, but an attorney for the comedian said that he can prove that Cosby was not in Los Angeles at the time.
On Wednesday, Goins met with Los Angeles police detectives. She claims that Cosby assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion there in 2008. She was just 18 at the time.
Goins said that she accepted a drink from Cosby and passed out. When she woke up, she claims she was naked and saw Cosby licking her toes and masturbating.
However, in a statement to USA Today, attorney Martin Singer said that he has documentation to prove that Cosby was actually in New York at the time. Singer said that the party Goins has to be referring to was the Midsummer Night’s Party on Aug. 9, 2008.
“Mr. Cosby was in New York on that date,” Singer said. “We will be providing documentary evidence to the appropriate authorities which conclusively establishes Mr. Cosby's whereabouts on August 9th and for the preceding and succeeding days.”
Goins’ attorney, Spencer Kuvin, quickly responded by asking Singer to show off the documents he claims to have. “Finally, if that is true, why was Mr. Singer asking the Playboy mansion to look for security video?” Kuvin asked in a statement.
Singer has aggressively tried to discredit claims from over 20 women, who say that Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted them. Goins’ claims are the most recent and could fall within the legal statute of limitations.
Meanwhile, Cosby is set to perform in Denver tonight.
