Former Denver Broncos coach John Fox wasn’t unemployed very long and as many suspected, he inked a deal with the Chicago Bears to become the team’s new head coach.

The Bears announced the news on Friday and sources have told ESPN that Fox agreed to a four-year deal.

Soon after the announcement was made Bears offensive lineman Kyle Long tweeted his reaction to the hire.

Fox was said to have “parted ways” with the Denver Broncos after the team lost in the divisional round of the playoffs to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.

Despite a 46-18 record in four seasons with Denver, General Manager John Elway said that he and Fox were just not on the same page about some things. Namely, about how to get to the next level of winning a Super Bowl title.

Before he coached the Broncos, Fox was the head coach of the Carolina Panthers and took that team to its only Super Bowl in franchise history. However, he is now 0-2 in the NFL’s biggest game.

Fox still is regarded as one of the best coaches out there and fans of the Chicago Bears are probably feeling pretty good about this hire. For the 59-year-old though, he has not inherited a fully-stacked team or a Hall of Fame quarterback like he had in Peyton Manning. But there is enough talent for the defensive-minded coach to work with and develop.
