Chris Harrison may be the host of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, but that doesn’t mean he knows all the secrets.
Harrison has been the host of both shows since the beginning, but sometimes he is even caught off guard with some of the broken engagements. In an interview with TV Guide magazine, he discussed the most recent Bachelorette break-up.
The host spoke with former Bachelorette Andi Dorfman and her fiancé Josh Murray about their future wedding plans at The Bachelor season 19 red carpet premiere on Monday, January 5th, but days later the pair announced they were calling off their engagement.
“I had no clue. The only thing was that I felt [they] were a little off, but... they seemed happy and played the part. By no means did I know they were broken up and did that interview because honestly, having been through a crappy breakup, I would've protected it more and stayed away from wedding talk and I wouldn't have put them on the spot,” Harrison explained in the interview. He added, “That had to be horribly uncomfortable and awkward knowing they were probably going to break up.”
Dorfman and Murray met during The Bachelorette season 10 and got engaged during the season finale, which aired on ABC only 5 months prior to calling it quits. They announced they were ending their engagement earlier this month and admitted they were “sad that it has come to this point.”
