Getting used to someone else being in your everyday life can be a difficult task, especially for those who've been alone for a while. It's interesting to watch Donnie Wahlberg and Jenny McCarthy play this notion out on Donnie L.
Donnie tells us one of his new living with Jenny perks, you get new house guests.
Jenny tells us how it's a struggle living with so many different characters: a dad who is horny, a pubescent son, a new husband and a dog that should have been named after Ron Jeremy.
The episode focuses on Macky's date and how Donnie and Jenny deal with helping Macky despite how different the two parties are.
Donnie thinks it's cool that Macky has a date while Jenny doesn't take the same approach. She has many questions, such as “is she a mail order bride?”
Macky tells them how he enjoys seeing the chemistry that Donnie and Jenny have, which is something he admittedly wants again. They help Macky prep for this date. The only problem is that Donnie and Jenny have two different ways of helping him.
Now it's time for a Macky makeover.
Donnie and Jenny talk in their living room about Macky. Jenny tells Donnie, Macky hasn't had a date in eighteen years. She thinks her father is picky. Donnie says that Macky only looks for two qualities in a woman: “She has to have big boobs and small feet. So she doesn't block the TV when he is watching from the bed."
Jenny wants to see her dad happy. When Donnie comes home, Jenny is setting up a spray tanning system. After she spray tans him she whitens his teeth. Jenny takes him to get botox in his cheeks so he appears younger looking. Donnie disagrees with this.
Donnie tells us to avoid anything with N’s. Numbing creams, Needles and Knives are the N’s to stay away from.
Donnie comes home to find Macky looking like a lobster while Jenny is putting a cooling mask on his face. Donnie tells her that shes losing sight of what's important and its her dads heart.
Jenny says that she knows both her and Donnie want what's right for Macky. Donnie says at the end of the day, Jenny wants what's best for her dad. “She loves him probably more than anyone on the planet.”
Donnie has a talk with Macky about the date and he reassures Macky that Jenny is doing this out of love. Donnie feels Jenny is starting to feel pressured about Macky finding love so the pressure is pouring onto Macky. Donnie is trying to find out why Jenny is going all out for a random date. He tells Jenny that Macky is feeling the pressure. Donnie helps her realize that shes going overboard. She finally fesses up that she was going about it the wrong way. She states, "I’m so scared of him still being alone.”
Jenny apologizes to Macky. She tells him she went too far. She was trying to fix the outside when its the inside that matters most.
The show closes with Macky leaving for his date. Jenny and Donnie in bed being silly in love with out of this world comments about their love.
After all, this is the show Donnie Loves Jenny.
