A San Jose, California nightclub hosting singer Chris Brown was the site of a shooting early Sunday morning. While the crowd panicked, police say that all victims will survive.
The shooting began at around 1:20 a.m. at the Fiesta nightclub. Officers found four people injured from gunshots, while a fifth person later walked to the hospital, also suffering from a shooting wound.
“There was screaming, pushing and running,” bartender Edgar Jimenez told The San Jose Mercury News. “Of course I was scared, because you're in the middle of a shooting.”
Police did not release the names of the victims. They did detain several people, reports SFGate.
Brown was attending a “Capricorn Bash” birthday party hosted by the KMEL radio station. The 25-year-old is seen on stage when gunshots were fired in videos posted online. The “Loyal” singer himself was not hurt.
A witness told the Mercury News that the shooting didn’t start until Brown took the stage. "The shooting started when he started the third verse of the song," she told the paper. "That's when everybody leaned back or dived."
Brown reportedly tweeted “I’m 100” after the incident, but that message was deleted.
