After a 36-year TV series cessation, viewers will once again be seeing John Travolta in their living rooms and on their television screens—this time with a new project.
FX has decided to bring Travolta on board the new miniseries American Crime Story, which tells the in depth tale of the infamous and incredulous 1995 O.J. Simpson murder trail.
Travolta will depict Simpson’s defense attorney Robert Shapiro, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Furthermore, the anticipated series will include David Schwimmer as Simpson’s lawyer, Robert Kardashian, Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark and Cuba Gooding Jr. as Simpson himself, as reported by The Los Angeles Times.
One focus of the series is to open perspective to the lawyers’ experiences as well as the legal manipulation during the trial of the ex NFL star.
The 10-part drama also includes producing credit for Travolta in the crime anthology series. Written by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski and directed by Ryan Murphy, the crime series is based off of the book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin.
Los Angeles will be home to the show’s production, beginning in 2015.
