HBO announced the return dates for its trio of acclaimed Spring shows. Game of Thrones fans will have to get their calendars out.
The premium cable network announced that Game of Thrones will return for its fifth season on April 12 at 9 p.m. After that, the second season of Silicon Valley will kick off at 10 p.m. Lastly, the fourth season of Veep with Julia Louis-Dreyfus will air at 10:30 p.m.
Of course, anticipation for Game of Thrones’ fifth season is already at a fever pitch, thanks to the recent news that fans will have to go to IMAX theaters to see the new trailer. From Jan. 23 to Jan. 29, 150 IMAX screens will show the last two episodes of season four, plus the new season five trailer.
All three shows are also up for Golden Globes on Sunday. Game of Thrones was nominated for Best Television Drama series, although no single actor was nominated. Louis-Dreyfus is up for Best Actress in a Comedy series for her performance as Vice President Selina Meyer in Veep. Silicon Valley will compete for Best Comedy Series.
