George Clooney gushed about his wife of about four months, Amal Clooney, upon accepting the Cecil B. DeMille award during the 2015 Golden Globes.

He gushed about being in love as his human rights lawyer wife looked on adoringly.

“It's a humbling thing to find someone you love," he told the crowd, Us Weekly reports. "Even better if you've been waiting your whole life. And when your whole life is 53 years,” telling hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to queue the jokes.

“Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn't be more proud to be your husband,” he gushed.

Earlier that evening, Fey and Poehler did joke about the irony that Clooney would be getting a lifetime achievement award although Amal has some impressive credentials under her belt.

“George Clooney married Amal Alamuddin this year. Amal is a human rights lawyer who worked on the ENRON case, was an adviser to Kofi Annan regarding Syria, and was selected for a three-person commission investigating rules of war violations in the Gaza Strip,” Fey said. “So tonight, her husband is getting a lifetime achievement award."

For her first official awards show event as Clooney’s wife, Amal chose a Dior Haute Couture gown with a shoulder train with white gloves.
