The Toronto Raptors have gone almost 10 years without a win at Golden State. This drought continued Friday as the Warriors prevailed 126-105.
Golden State came out firing, scoring 40 points in the first quarter, which is the most it scored in any first quarter this season. They held a nine-point advantage at the end of the period.
Toronto failed to give up, narrowing the gap to five at halftime. The Raptors continued to stay close until the fourth quarter as the Warriors ended the game with a 16-4 run.
Stephen Curry poured in a game-high 32 points and dished out 12 assists. Draymond Green recorded his first career triple-double as he amassed 16 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds.
Three other Golden State players were in double figures. Marreese Speights tallied 26 points and eight rebounds. Klay Thompson contributed 20 points, and David Lee chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds.
For the Raptors, Greivis Vasquez compiled 25 points. Kyle Lowry posted 22 points and eight assists, reports USA Today.
The Warriors improve to an NBA-best 26-5 on the season and move to 13-1 at home. The Raptors drop to 24-9 and fall behind the Atlanta Hawks for the best record in the Eastern Conference.
“You want to say that every game is the same, but that’s just not true,” Green said before game, according to SFGate.com. “This is a big game.”
