There’s a reason why Isaac Mizrahi is a fashion designer and not a science teacher. It turns out that he really isn’t sure if the moon is a planet or not.

During a downright amazing QVC segment, noticed by The Verge, Mizrahi and host Jane Treacy got into an argument over the status of the moon while she was trying to sell some god-awful looking shirts. One of them was green and blue, which Treacy said looked like the earth from the moon’s perspective.

“It almost kind of looks like what the earth looks like when you're a bazillion miles away from the planet moon,” Treacy said.

Treacy tried to correct herself, assuming that the moon was a star, but Mizrahi had none of that.

“No, the moon is a planet, darling,” Mizrahi shot back.

“The sun is a star. Is the moon really a planet?”

“Well, the moon is a planet, honey. It's a planet...”

“Don't look at me like that. The sun Is a star. Is the sun not a star?”

(Yes, this is really an argument had on television. And yes, these people make a lot of money.)

Eventually, Treacy decided that the moon really isn’t a planet, but Mizrahi was not convinced. Obviously, Neil DeGrasse Tyson was needed to tell them that they were both wrong.
