James Franco said that the hacking of Sony Studios caused by The Interview negatively affected his health.

According to The Guardian, Franco said that the fallout from the Sony hacking and threats of terrorism from North Korea caused him to fall ill.

"There was this pressure. There was so much attention on it — attention on a level you never expected. It was a shock to my system, and I got sick,” Franco said. “But I was never scared for my safety or anything.”

In The Interview Franco plays a talk show host tasked with traveling to North Korea for an interview with its leader, Kim Jong Un. Along the way he and his partner, played by longtime collaborator Seth Rogen, find themselves mixed up in a plot to assasinate the dictator.

According to Variety, Franco added that after the film was initially pulled from theatres he found himself in a state of limbo.

"As soon as they called the press off, and the movie was pulled from theatres, there was nothing to do. They weren’t looking to me to make any decisions. It was just sitting around and staying quiet.” Franco said.

The Interview went on to have a limited release, earning $45 million.
