Jamie Dornan has revealed his fear about being murdered while attending the premiere of Fifty Shades of Grey, considering the strong public opinion surrounding the film and the actors who portray the beloved characters E.L. James created in the trilogy.

Dornan and Dakota Johnson did face some criticism in the wake of their roles being announced; although Dornan went through a bit more because he replaced Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam.

He told Details’ February issue, "I almost don't want to put this out there into the ether, but I fear I'll get murdered, like John Lennon, by one of those mad fans at the premiere.”

Dornan, 32, went on to say, "Because a lot of people are very angry that I'm playing this character. And I'm a father now, and a husband. I don't want to die yet."

The actor went on to joke about his prediction being eerie in his posthumous life. “When I do get murdered, people will say, 'God, isn't it haunting how he did that interview in Details magazine and predicted his own death on the red carpet?'" he laughed.

Meanwhile, the film has received an R rating from the MPAA.
