Jamie Dornan and Robert Pattinson can relate to each other, having both starred in major film franchises. Dornan will make his debut as Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey next month but Pattinson’s role as Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga is long behind him.
If there’s anyone in the world who can empathize with Dornan on the whole fame aspect of the industry, it’s Pattinson.
"I’ve been around Rob long enough to see what it’s been like for him," Dornan told Variety. "I don’t know if it’s been a benefit to witness that. Whatever that is."
Pattinson has always been uncomfortable with fame, though it probably didn’t hinder public interest in him that he was dating his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart.
Dornan, himself, has voiced hesitation with it, so at least he has an ally.
“By the way, it’s not the same thing,” Dornan continued on their experiences with fame. “We’re not the Twilight franchise. We’re a different thing. Whatever my situation is, it’s going to be different from Rob’s. They are incomparable.”
As for their last conversation, Dornan doesn’t remember. "I think we just got drunk,” he said.
