Jennifer Aniston has revealed that her first love would’ve likely been the person she would spend her life with if he hadn’t died of a brain tumor.
Before she was even married to Brad Pitt, the Friends star said she was young and in love. She also believes her unnamed ex sent her Justin Theroux to make up for the heartache.
In an interview with the New York Times, Aniston said, “He was my first love — five years we were together.”
She added, “He would have been the one. But I was 25, and I was stupid. He must have sent me Justin to make up for it all.”
Now that she’s happy and settled in her love life, she talked about the 8-carat engagement ring Theroux gave her when he proposed in 2012.
She joked that he “rocked it up,” adding, "It took me a while to get used to it. I’m not a diamond girl. I’m more Indian jewelry and stuff.”
Aniston, who’s up for a SAG and Golden Globe award for her role in Cake, is excited to be able to "take away the cloak of Rachel,” referring to her role as Rachel Green in Friends.
“You have to do something really dark to be taken seriously, I guess,” she said.
