Kanye West appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for her birthday special, where he talked about what his wife, Kim Kardashian and their daughter North has taught him.

On the show show, the Yeezus rapper said he’s a “better human being” because of his wife. He also said he’s learned to “compromise" and "shut up more."

"I always have someone to think about going home to," he said of having a family. “There are things I’ve done in the past that were considered negative, but I was really jumping in front of the tank for other people or for culture in a way, so now I always have to have that in my mind that I have a family that I have to protect too."

He called some of his past outbursts, such as interrupting Taylor Swift at the VMAs in 2009, his version of the “terrible twos.”

West continued to talk about expanding their family, like Kardashian has talked about recently, saying "we're trying.”
