While fans of The LEGO Movie remain stunned by the movie’s snub at the Oscars, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are trying to make light of the situation. After all, the film does still have a chance to win an Oscar, just not the one everyone was hoping for.
The animated film from Warner Bros. was not nominated for Best Animated Feature. Instead, the nominees were Big Hero 6, The Boxtrolls, How To Train Your Dragon 2, Song of the Sea and The Tale of the Princess Kaguya.
However, the movie was nominated for Best Original Song for “Everything is Awesome,” but it does have some tough competition, including “Glory” (Selma); “Grateful” (Beyond the Lights); “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” (Glen Campbell... I’ll Be Me); and “Lost Stars” (Begin Again).
The moment the nominations were announced, suddenly everyone realized that everything was not awesome. Miller tweeted, “Congrats to ‘Everything is Awesome’ though currently the title of the song doesn't seem especially accurate!”
Lord tweeted that he built his own Oscar... out of Legos of course. He also added, “This is not a tragedy. Congrats to incredible crew and cast of The Lego Movie, who made a classic.”

The film made $468.7 million worldwide.
