Four months after Joan Rivers’ death, her daughter Melissa Rivers has filed a lawsuit against the physicians at Yorkville Endoscopy clinic in Manhattan.

Rivers died at the age of 81 on Sept. 4, 2014 after being rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital when he throat surgery went wrong.

Melissa Rivers filed the multi-million dollar lawsuit in New York County Supreme Court on Monday, claiming the physicians were “reckless, grossly negligent and wanton” during the procedure, CNN reports. She’s suing the clinic, the two doctors and three anesthesiologists who performed the outpatient procedure.

She claims they performed procedures on the Fashion Police star without her permission or consent, such as a biopsy on her vocal chords that landed her in a coma.

Daily News reports Rivers also claimed they were taking cell phone photos of late mother while she was under anesthesia.

The purpose of the lawsuit is to "make certain that the many medical deficiencies that led to Joan Rivers' death are never repeated by any outpatient surgery center."

“Not only did my mother deserve better, every patient deserves better," she said.
