FLOTUS, Michelle Obama, is jumping on the long list of people touched by Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper. She praised the film during a speech on Friday.

Although the film has had its fair share of negative press, Obama praised the film for giving access to a side of war some Americans might not be able to see otherwise. She called it "complex" and "emotional."

“While I know there have been critics, I felt that, more often than not, this film touches on many of the emotions and experiences that I’ve heard firsthand from military families over these past few years,” she said.

She was speaking at an event in D.C., where she urged screenwriters to use more storylines involving veterans.

Obama continued, “The vast majority of Americans will never see these stories. For all those folks in America who don’t have these kinds of opportunities, films and TV are often the best way we have to share those stories.”

She admitted she saw the film with President Obama during the “long flight” to India and Saudi Arabia, where she was criticized for failing to wear a headscarf.
