The Green Packers got off to a shaky start this season losing to the defending champion Seattle Seahawks, defeating the lowly New York Jets, but then losing again to the Detroit Lions. Fans hit the panic button until quarterback Aaron Rodgers told them to R-E-L-A-X.

Fast forward to Wednesday after ESPNWisconsin.com noted that the starting quarterback was not at practice and fans are no longer relaxing.

Just a few days before the Packers host the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round of the playoffs, Rodgers’ nagging calf injury kept him off the practice field.

He initially suffered the injury during Week 16 of the regular season against the Tampa Buccaneers and re-aggravated it in the final game of the season against the Lions. He briefly exited that game, but returned to defeat the rival NFC North opponents and clinch a first-round bye.

Despite having him sit out of the day’s practice, NFL.com reported that Packers coach Mike McCarthy said he expects Rodgers to play in the upcoming game.

"I plan on Aaron playing Sunday," the head coach said. "Today's schedule was for him to stay exclusively in the training room. It's day-to-day."

So the question is, assuming Rodgers does play, will he be healthy enough and effective enough to defeat a Cowboys team that has yet to lose on the road this season? Packers fans are hoping he will be.
