Rebel Wilson believes her weight gives her an upper hand in comedy, saying being an overweight female helps her image more than it hurts.

The Pitch Perfect 2 star told Australia’s Daily Life that being “bigger” makes it easier for her audience to laugh with her.

"Bigger girls do better in comedy," she explained, reasoning, “Maybe because people find it easier to laugh. It's very hard to laugh at someone who's very attractive, I think."

She has embraced her size in Pitch Perfect, appearing as the character “Fat Amy,” so it’s no surprise she’s comfortable with herself.

“I took something that was seen as a disadvantage – no one thinks, if you're fat, that you're going to be an actress and everyone's going to love you – and turned it into a positive," she said.

She realizes that making it big in Hollywood is a “one in 25 million shot,” and knows she’s “lucky” but also credits her hard work for the career she has today.

Wilson can be seen in the Elizabeth Banks-directed Pitch Perfect 2 alongside Anna Kendrick and Brittany Snow on May 15.
