Rob Lowe is heading to the U.K. for his new series. He will star in Apocalypse Slough with Jenna Fischer and Megan Mullally.
Sky1 announced the series on Tuesday. In addition to Fischer, Mullally and Lwe, the cast will include Mathew Baynton, Pauline Quirke, Paterson Joseph and Joel Fry.
The series was created by Beaver Falls’ Iain Hollands and 30 Rock’s Michael Engler is directing the first two episodes.
Lowe, who was last seen on NBC’s Parks and Recreation, is set to play Father Jude, a rebellious priest who is trying to survive the last days of earth before the apocalypse. Fischer, who starred in the U.S. version of The Office, will play a librarian in a New Mexico prison. Mullally, who has also appeared on Parks and Rec, will star as Leanne, a white supremacist who takes Fischer's character under her wing.
Apocalypse Slough is an NBCUniversal International TV production with Working Title. NBC will air the series in the U.S.
“I've always been a fan of the kind of smart, ambitious and challenging filmmaking that comes from Sky and Working Title,” Lowe said in a statement. “This script and my character in particular, blew me away.”
